Late Summer → Pre-Fall Styling

These are such a good August-to-September trouser because charcoal grey gives you the feeling of fall tailoring without needing heavy layers yet.

For late summer, I’d style them with a fitted white tank, ribbed tee or simple black camisole and a minimal leather sandal. A slim belt and small shoulder bag would make the whole thing feel intentional without becoming corporate. I also love grey with a soft butter yellow or pale blue right now. Styling them with a low heel or pointed boot to really take advantage of that long, sweeping line of the Tall silhouette.

As we move into September, add a crisp oversized white shirt, fitted cardigan or fine-gauge knit with loafers, ballet flats or a sleek sneaker like a samba. The volume of the Blake works particularly well when you keep the top half either fitted or deliberately oversized rather than somewhere in between.

For pre-fall, this is where they get really good: a chocolate brown knit, cream turtleneck, burgundy cardigan or oversized blazer with loafers or pointed boots. Grey + brown is also much more interesting here than automatically defaulting to black.
